Driving through an approximately infinite universe
Things to do on this trip:
1. See all of the big important sights which I have heard great things about all of my life. Empire State, Redwoods, Devil's Tower, etc.
2. See all of the tiny, unknown, but nevertheless beautiful sights that most people will go their entire lives without knowing about. Forests, mountains, lakes, odd houses and abandoned buildings and the like.
3. See all of the trashy tourist traps I can possibly find. Giant twine balls, prairie dogs, world's tallest thermometer, you name it.
4. Attend a different religious sermon every sunday, and on other days as well provided I get the chance. Pentecostal churches, obscure cults, and all sorts of other crazy religions (as if there is any other *kind* of religion besides plain crazy). I've got to figure out why, and how, so many people remain reluctant to think for themselves...
5. Escape from structure. Having a daily routine is all well and good but having to rely on one makes you weak, in my opinion. The true test is to remove any structure whatsoever from your life for a period of time, and see how well you can improvise.
6. Music. My head is already swimming with ideas which at this point seem even better to me than the ones I have been working on for months, and I imagine that placing myself in an alien setting is only going to increase my already high level of inspiration.
7. Meet new people. Exploring unknown territories is fascinating, the same with unknown minds.
8. See old friends. There are a handful of them scattered about the country which I have not seen in some time, some of whom I have become rather close to through network and telephone contact. It would be foolish of me to avoid these people - they represent a *guaranteed* good time.
